Last night when making my own arrows I encountered this issue.... i had broken down 100 logs into 100 boards... when trying to make the shafts it wouldn't recognize the boards.

Second issue, I went to get more logs.... after chopping 200 regular logs, 30 ash, 10 oak I couldn't make shafts with regular logs. What I did was make the shafts with oak, then ash, and finally regular logs... then it will work. Otherwise trying to make shaft with regular logs will not recognize it.

Yeah Lox, I'm aware this is a problem and I'm workng on a solution. In the meantime, I found that that rotation you mentioned is the only thing that works. I only had to make one item and switch to another wood though.
