Recently had a bad stick of RAM and was causing nasty lock ups. Bought some more, so cheap now a days.

I had a bad RAM slot on a motherboard do the same thing. Individually, all memory tested fine, and during normal use, the comp would run fine. But if you did something that was memory intensive and it started to use the 3rd RAM slot it would lock up. That was a fun one to diagnose.

Glad to see you're virtually functional again lol
Can't say I've ever been crippled for very long with bad hardware as I always have an alternative backup handy somewhere lol
