Server Login Issues
Hello!
I wasn't so sure where to post, but I guess this looks like the right place. hehe
So, I tried to connect to this shard for a good while now and I can't seem to get it to work, it just crashes right away.
I downloaded the UOExpanseClient.zip and unzipped it in a new folder. (I downloaded it a second time to make sure the file wasn't corrupted)
I installed razor and launched (pointing both 'Load client' and 'UO Data directory' to my UOExpanse folder and I have 'Patch client encryption' checked).
The next thing I see is my client crashing right away and razor crashing. The bad part is that Razor won't even close and I have to reboot in order to close it (ctrl+alt+suppr doesn't work).
I also tried: an old version of Razor, AssistUO and UOSteam (newer version of AssistUO I guess): same result.
I don't have any problem launching another shard though and I'm running out of ideas right now.
Any hint?
Thanks!

One another thing to make sure you have is .Net 3.5 (that install rolls up from 1.0 up to 3.5). While most other shards don't have these types of issues and are running the latest client, etc, we do because we're running a 7.0.30 core, but we have a massive amount of custom client files. This forces us to offer a full client download for players to use. Let me know if I can be of anymore assistance., hope this helps.

I've just tried installing .net 4.5 (can't install 3.5 as I have windows 7 I think) and same crash. I'll reboot once again (after updating it to 4.5.1) and try again but I don't have high hope about this one.
Edit: still no chance, I'm really running out of ideas hehe. Thanks for trying!

.Net 4.5 doesn't actually include 3.5. For some reason they didn't roll that into it. Try and 3.5 install and PM me.

Actually I installed the full 3.5 package in the process, even though it said 7 wasn't a supported system. But nope.
BUT I think I just figured why it was crashing, it was avast for some reason. I desactivated it just to try and it worked. Now I have to find a way to play UO with an active antivirus. hehe
Thanks for the help!

Antivirus programs don't like new things being installed without their permission heh
Glad you figured it out though. Likely once you're connected you can turn it back on again. Also make sure Razor (or AssistUO or Stea, etc) are being run in Administrator mode too.

Running these things with administrator mode was one of the first things I tried hehehe. And yes, for a few times I had to desactivate/reactivate the antivirus to run UO.
Weirdly enough, the antivirus doesn't bother me anymore now.

Likely that is because it now recognizes UO as a "safe" program. Antivirus programs can be a pain. Glad you got everything working though.

Ok, I have seen a few people having issues with RAZOR. It will crash right after the charachter creation. Here is how you can fix that issue.
You do not need to uninstall and reinstall anything. Its a simple fix. Seems to be a bug with Razor affecting any new shards lately.
To connect download everything just as you normaly would. When starting razor, at the top you will see Load Client and the box that says 2d auto connect with the browse button next to that.
What you will need to do is in the box at the top were it says 2d auto connect, you must first put in the client info there. 2nd start razor once. 3rd close razor all the way. 4th reopen razor .....here is the important part....it will say 2d client auto connect in the box again... YOU MUST USE THE DROP DOWN MENU (the down arrow at far right side of box)..find the shard client in the drop down menu and put it in box.....
then log into razor normally and it will work fine
